Privacy
This site is read-only for the people who read it. It runs no scripts, sets no cookies, and carries no advertising, no tracking pixels and no third-party embeds. There is nothing here that follows you anywhere.
What follows is the whole of what is collected, by whom, and why.
When you read a page
Nothing is stored about you by us. The site is served by Cloudflare, which handles the connection and therefore sees what any web server sees: the address you connect from, the page requested, and your browser’s user agent. Cloudflare uses that to serve the page and to protect the site from attack, and gives us back aggregate counts only — how many page views a day, and which countries they came from. We cannot see individual readers in it, and on our plan those daily figures are kept for about a week before they age out.
We set no cookies. Your browser is not asked to remember anything.
When you subscribe to the letter
If you enter an email address to receive the newsletter, we store that address, whether you have confirmed it, and a random token that powers your unsubscribe link. That is all. It is kept in Cloudflare D1, and it is used for one thing: sending you the letter you asked for.
Every letter carries a working unsubscribe link, including the one-click kind your mail client may offer. Unsubscribing removes you. We do not sell, rent, share or trade the list, and there is no third party we hand it to for any purpose other than delivering the mail itself — when the letter begins sending, that delivery is handled by Resend.
When you write to us
Mail to our published addresses is forwarded to a private inbox and read by a person. We keep what you send for as long as it is useful to the correction or the story it concerns. If you send us a tip, we treat it the way we treat any source material, and we will not publish anything identifying you without asking you first.
Any address on this domain other than the ones we publish is discarded, not delivered — so please use the published ones:
Corrections, tips, and anything on this page: corrections@atlasahead.com
Deleting your data
There are only two things here that could be yours, and you can have either one removed at any time.
The newsletter list. Every letter carries an unsubscribe link, and using it removes your address and its token from the list. If you would rather ask a person, write to us and say so — we will remove it and tell you when it is done.
Anything you sent us by email. Ask, and we delete the correspondence, unless it is the record of a correction we published — in which case the correction stays and your name does not, because a correction that quietly disappears is the second mistake this desk exists to avoid.
Either request goes to corrections@atlasahead.com, and we answer it ourselves — there is no form and no queue.
What we will never do
We will not add advertising trackers, session recording, or third-party analytics that identify readers. That is not a promise about intentions; it is enforced by the way the site is built. It ships a policy telling your browser to refuse every script and every outside resource, and a tracker cannot run in a page that will not run code.
Changes
If what this page describes ever stops being true, this page changes on the same day. It is dated by its own history, and the history is public.
